ABOUT

Fluidmecánica was born with the purpose of designing, manufacturing, and marketing naval machinery, oil-hydraulic controls and transmissions and pneumatic applications.

Since 1977, and in order to respond to the demands of domestic and international markets, Fluidmecánica’s production processes has two ways: manufacture of naval machinery and pneumatic and hydraulic systems under exclusive design and manufacture to order, according to each customer’s specific requirements.

Our adaptation to demand has led Fluidmecánica to be considered a market leader in the manufacture and sale of hydraulic stearing gear, anchor windlasses, pneumatic controls for engines and thrusters, pneumatic controls for variable pitch propeller systems, hydraulic marine cranes, fishing winches, oceanographic winches andhydraulic drive systems.

Fluidmecánica has offices in Ferrol, Madrid, Cartagena and Chiclana de la Frontera.

Fluidmecánica supplies machinery for cargo ships, tugboats and icebreakers, leisure boats, fishing boats, etc.

Fluidmecánica has vast experience in the design and manufacture of deck equipment (winches, cranes, …) for all types of vessels without draft and speed limitations, and manoeuvring equipment (thrusters, steering gears, …), adapting the machinery to the customer’s needs, as well as for extreme environmental characteristics.

Work for the Navy mainly in the following fields:

  • Weapons (missile launching systems, missile simulator, naval guns, howitzers, torpedo launching systems, decoy launching systems).

  • Maintenance and repair of light and heavy military vehicles at all levels: preventive, corrective and rehabilitation.

Bow Thrusters

Bow thrusters are supplied according to the individual needs of each customer, with the possibility of connecting these to the Dynamic Positioning System. The electric motor driven propellers include a frequency converter to allow progressive speed adjustment from 0 to 100%. Fluidmecanica manufactures bow thrusters up to 1,300 kW with hydraulic or electric drives.

Steering Gears

Designed and manufactured from the smallest systems of 1.6 kNm to the largest of 3,200 kNm, developing all types of configurations according to our customers’ needs.

Fin Stabilisers

Stabilisers with non-retractable active fins are designed to reduce swing amplitudes at the bow of the ship in order to increase efficiency, improve operating conditions and crew habitability.

Stabilisers can be installed on board transoceanic vessels for a variety of purposes.

Anchor Windlasses

Windlasses with cast-steel capstans for working the mooring ropes. Cast steel chain lifters fitted with clutches to allow independent operation of the capstans, and with independent brake belts. Driven by hydraulic or electric motor. Manufacture and design of roller stoppers, guillotine or spindle glands, built in steel or stainless steel according to the customer’s requirements

Mooring Systems

Design and construction of auxiliary machinery for working mooring ropes. Driven by hydraulic or electric motor.

Capstans

Design and construction of capstans and any type of pulling, lifting or storage machinery according to the customer’s needs. Driven by hydraulic or electric motor.

Cranes And Davits

Manufacture of fixed, extendible, folding or extendible and folding davit cranes. Made of hot-rolled steel profile, highly resistant and with special anti-corrosion properties for marine environments. On request, they can be supplied with a closed control cabinet for winter operation. Special designs for navy and pleasure craft. Rescue boat handling davits, these davits comply with SOLAS standard for rescue equipment

Gantry

Folding davit for oceanographic vessels.

Lars

LARS (LAunch and Recovery System) davit for ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles). The equipment integrates a davit + a winch in one base. The davit is hydraulically operated with a constant tension system and hydraulic cylinder for shock absorption. The characteristics of the davit can be modified and adapted according to the customer’s needs.

Trawling Machines And Net Drums

Trawling machines and net drums for bottom trawling and pelagic trawling.

Purse Seine Clippers

Seine fishing and gill netting machines.

Haulers

Net haulers, longliners, purse seiners. Fully constructed in naval quality cast aluminium. Consisting essentially of a rubber-coated drum mounted on galvanised steel bearings and gantry. Driven by hydraulic or electric motor.

Towing Winch

Design and construction of side-scan sonar oceanographic winches.

Hydraulic Power Plants

Hydraulic power plants in any configuration. We design and manufacture hydraulic power plants for any flow rate for our systems and all types of on-board equipment. Customized design and special features (explosive environments, automatic start-up in case of failure, redundant alarms and control system, constant power) according to customer requirements.

Antenna Systems

Mast and antenna lowering systems are custom designed according to requirements: ship type, size, flag, regulations, environmental conditions and special requirements. A detailed study of each case is carried out, analysing variations in dimensions, weights, centres of gravity or wind resistance, as well as static and dynamic analyses.

Teaching Equipment – Control – Electronics

Control panels manufactured and designed according to the requirements of each individual project. Electrical control panels.
